28 malicious applications on the Google Play store
28 malicious applications on the Google Play Store that have been installed more than 10 million times.
A new security research conducted by the team of Dr. Web revealed that there are 28 malicious applications on the Google Play Store that have been installed more than 10 million times.
These malicious apps push users to sign up for fake paid services, collect as much data as possible on victims' social media accounts and show an endless number of misleading ads.
These applications reach their goal by requesting exceptional powers that may not have anything to do with the nature of the application, such as requesting the authority to work in the background. Then the app starts collecting data and showing ads, some of which may be misleading, with the aim of directing users to make payments for fake services.
Google, for its part, has deleted most of these applications from its store, but the fact that the application has been deleted from the store does not mean that it will be removed from your phone. So take a look at the following list of applications and make sure that your phone is free of any of them.
